5 Simple Ways to Earn Extra Income

Some of my blog posts include affiliate links.  If you purchase an item from one of my links I may receive a commission.  Please read my disclaimer for more details.

My husband and I co-own a small business.  I had been working two jobs up until last year when I decided to stay home during my daughter’s surgery.  Although I still work for my businesses, I have left all other regular hourly jobs.  Since the financial adjustment made to my family, we have been trying to find ways to save and earn extra income.

5 simple ways to earn extra income using phone apps, your computer, your creativity, and working odd jobs or weekend jobs.

Use Apps and Reward Sites

The Ibotta app is used for online or in stores purchases.  Ibotta gives you refunds on products purchased during your everyday shopping.  Use the link and receive a free $10 for signing up.  The app allows cash withdrawals once you have added up at least $20 in offers.  What I enjoy about the Ibotta app is that I can use the app at my local grocery and convenience stores.  Even though I do not receive discounts every single time that I go to the store, I collect them often.

Another site that I frequent is MySurvey.com.  MySurvey.com is a site that will present a variety of surveys that  produce points.  After each survey, your points will accumulate.  MySurvey allows you to redeem points for PayPal, gift cards, charitable contributions, or magazines.

Other sites and apps that help you to earn extra cash or rewards are Swagbucks, Ebates, Shopkick, and Google Opinion Rewards.

Sell Used Items

Since last summer my husband and I have had yard sales and sold used articles on Facebook and eBay.  Find used items around your house that you don’t need anymore.  You will clean out your home while making a few dollars.

Become a Demonstrator

Before my children were born and during my husband’s active duty military enlistment I had lots of time on my hands, so I usually picked up odd jobs in addition to my regular employment. One job that I had was a demonstrator at the local commissary.  I would hand out samples of Pantene shampoo. It was a simple job that is nice for those that have excellent communication and people skills.  You can look for these job listings on Indeed and Craigslist.

Sell Unique and Original Ideas

Etsy is a wonderful place to sell items that you make yourself.  If you are crafty, imaginative, or artistic, you can sell your creative side on Etsy.  Sign up as an independent seller to list the items you’d like to sell.  There are a $0.20 publishing cost and a 3.5% transaction fee for each sale aside from shipping.  My girls and I sell items that we make ourselves and pieces that we make with the help from Teespring.

Sell on Teespring

Teespring is free to use.  If you can come up with catchy sayings or original images, Teespring is the spot for you.  I started using Teespring a couple of months ago, and I have been able to sell t-shirts, mugs, throw pillows, socks, and more.  Teespring is simple once you sign up for an account.  All you have to do is choose a canvas to design, upload your image, pick your colors, add a description, and you’re in business.

Don’t forget that while you’re earning extra cash, it’s essential to find discounts and save money where you can.
