There are many places to see and visit in San Diego, California. Below are my 5 San Diego Favorites while I’m in town. One way to prepare for a trip is to plan out local hot spots, beaches, and restaurants. I research new places every time I travel; it’s nice to have an agenda that keeps me on a budget. San Diego Coffee
The Coffee Bean – Both of my daughter’s like to visit The Coffee Bean. It is a treat to visit The Coffee Bean in San Diego since they are only located in California. I enjoy the hot flavored coffees while my children enjoy the blended drinks. The Coffee Bean also provides a 10% discount through UNiDAYS talked about in my post Discounts and Cash Back. The Coffee Bean promotes a Rewards app for the frequent coffee drinker. The app allows you to pay from your phone and it has a store locator for convenience.
San Diego Ice Cream
MooTime Creamery – MooTime Creamery is in Coronado, California. You can find it among the shops on the busy street of Orange Avenue or in the Hotel Del Coronado. It is a small nostalgic shop with friendly smiles. When you walk into MooTime Creamery you can pick from ice cream, yogurt, sorbet, or sherbert. You have the choice of a waffle or dipped cone, cookies, fruit, or candy as additions to your favorite treat. Anyone who enjoys a cold snack will love MooTime Creamery.
The Baked Bear – My family and I were looking for a snack after spending some time at Pacific Beach. I did some research online and found The Baked Bear. If you have a sweet tooth, this is the place to visit. The Baked Bear offers homemade cookies, brownies, and donuts. The idea is to pick from any of their homemade goodies and your choice of ice cream to place smack dab in the middle. The Baked Bear is in multiple cities in California. They have opened additional locations in Utah, Arizona, Nevada, and Oklahoma.
San Diego Quick Eats
Kono’s Café – Last year when I had the pleasure of visiting San Diego again I’d decided that I wanted to try out new places to eat. I had my heart set on eating at the Kono’s Café. I’d read about their history and was extremely curious about the vibe and food. My family and I drove into San Diego on a Sunday morning and went straight to Kono’s.
Kono’s is located right along the Pacific Beach boardwalk. There is a small area inside to sit and eat, but I soon found out that there are additional seats around the backside of the building. Kono’s menu includes breakfast all day, sandwiches, burgers, and salads. There is an additional location inland. Unfortunately, Kono’s Cafe is not open for dinner, but they are definitely one of my San Diego Favorites.
Hodad’s – Another San Diego Favorite is Hodad’s in Ocean Beach. They currently have three locations that are all in San Diego. They always seems to have a line of anxious and hungry people. Hodad’s has great burgers, sandwiches, chicken strips, and grilled cheese that my vegetarian daughter loves. Every inch of the restaurant is covered in license plates from all over the United States. It’s a quick meal on the go while visiting the beach or just hanging out at the restaurant. If you like a good burger, you’ll love Hodad’s.
